CONCERNING
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR DIARY CATTLE FOR BREEDING IMPORTED FROM ABROAD

THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE,

Considering:

HAS DECIDED

To Stipulate:

DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE ON TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR DIARY CATTLE FOR BREEDING IMPORTED FROM ABROAD.

Article 1

Diary cattle for breeding imported from abroad means diary cattle belonging to the Friesian Holstein (F.H) race or other diary cattle races to determine hereafter.

Article 2

(1) Diary cattle belonging to the Friesian Holstein race imported from abroad shall come from a diary cattle farm where the average quantity of milk produced by each cow is more than 4000 liters during each lactation period of 305 days.

(2) Compliance with the provision referred to in Paragraph (1) Article 2 shall be stated as in a certificate/written declaration endorsed by :

Article 3

Each of the diary cows referred to in Paragraph (1) Article 2 shall not be less than 16 months old and not be more than 20 months old, weighing at least 250 kgs at the time of examination following the quarantining period in Indonesia.

Article 4

(1) Diary cattle to be imported into Indonesia, shall have been impregnated by artificial insemination using semen of superior male parent of Friesian Holstein.

(2) Four weeks before shipping, the diary cattle after having been as referred to in Paragraph (1) shall be kept at one place or several places together with pure Friesian Holstein male parents the number of which shall be at least 3 % of female cattle to be imported into Indonesia.

Article 5

(1) Each of diary cows referred to in Article 1 shall be accompanied by an identification card/written declaration which contain among others:

Article 6

To meet the need for food during the voyage and 3 days after unloading at the port of destination, each shipment of diary cattle shall be accompanied by at least 5 kg of hay and 2 kg of pellet for each cow per day.

Article 7

The implementation of regulations of this Decree shall be conducted by inspectors appointed by the Director General of Livestock.

Article 8

The technical requirements for dairy cattle for breeding including male parent, calf, embryo and frozen semen, shall be set forth hereafter.

Article 9

Directions for the implementation of this Decree will be prescribed by the Director General of Livestock.

Article 10

This Decree shall come into effect on the date of issuance.
